Event Summary:
SAF-TESO proposes to host a Make a Difference Week (MADW) 2026 community restoration event in the Teso Sub-Region of Eastern Uganda. The event will integrate three complementary activities aligned with MADW’s restoration mandate and SAF-TESO’s Zero Waste Initiative: Community Tree Planting across clan regions and school compounds Community-Wide Clean-Up Campaigns targeting markets, roadsides, and water sources Zero Waste Management Demonstrations including composting, waste sorting, and recycling By anchoring our MADW event within SAF-TESO’s existing community networks and zero waste infrastructure, we ensure that this single-week event contributes to a durable, year-round ecosystem restoration programme. The event aligns with the 2026 World Environment Day .
Practical Details:
Expected Volunteers. 200 – 500 participants including youth, students (P.4 – S.4), clan leaders, and community members

Partners: Target Participants Primary and secondary school students (P.4 – S.4) from 10+ schools across the Teso Sub-Region Itesot clan leaders and community elders Local government representatives and civil society partners Women’s groups and youth zero waste champions already trained by SAF-TESO Members of the 300+ CBO/NGO/CSO network coordinated by SAF-TESO.SAF-TESO will carry out this event with administration of Nyorobe Village, Kidetok Town Council and Soroti City Local Government Authorities,the volunteers ,youth , children and women.
